Paul Abatemarco joins Stardust as executive producer for West Coast studio

LONDON, February 15, 2008—Alison Burns, CEO, and Russell Ramsey, executive creative director, today announced the appointment of Fernanda Romano as a creative director at JWT London.  Romano, 33, will report to Ramsey.

“Fernanda is a real star in the creative world,” says Ramsey. “She has an impressive track record in digital media and will add a fresh source of inspiration for our work.”

Among Romano’s accomplishments, she won 10 Cannes Cyber Lions in 2004/2005 and the Cannes Cyber Lions Grand Prix in 2005. In 2007, she served on the One Show Interactive Jury, the Spikes (Asia), the Cannes Cyber Jury and was selected as an Advertising Age’s “Woman to Watch.”

The appointment is Ramsey’s first creative director hiring since joining the agency in September 2007 and reflects his and Burns’ commitment to integrating creativity across the agency on behalf of its clients. Romano’s start date at JWT is May 6, 2008, and she will work across all client brands.

“I am really excited about joining JWT London and working with a team who are fully invested in the work,” says Romano. “JWT is not only a place of solid planning and thinking, but it has a very serious discipline for creativity. Add that to the drive of its people to achieve success and you have an exciting work environment in one of the most vibrant cities in the world.”

Romano joins JWT from Lowe Madrid, AKA Lola where she held the role of global creative director since July 2007.  As executive creative director of Lowe NY between December 2005–July 2007, she was credited with creating an integrated creative department ensuring the agencies solutions to client briefs were media agnostic.

“Russell and I are thrilled Fernanda has joined JWT. We are dedicated to delivering engaging consumer experiences on behalf of our clients and Fernanda’s knowledge will be integral to creating ideas that travel across all media platforms,” says Burns.
