Hollywood, CA - (February 19, 2007) - On Sunday, February 17th Dan Swietlik was honored with an American Cinema Editors EDDIE award for Best Edited Documentary for his contribution to Michael Moore's Oscar-nominated film "Sicko." The film, an entertaining and informative examination of the American healthcare system, is the third highest grossing documentary of all time. Dan shares the award with fellow Sicko editors Chris Seward and Geoffrey Richman.

"Dan Swietlik is a genius in the edit room," comments Michael Moore. "He's smart, he's funny, and he makes me look like I'm smart and funny. And isn't that the true measure of genius? 'Sicko' would not be the film it is without Dan. How many editors - especially of documentaries - can claim back-to-back Oscar nominations for their films, two years in a row? Dan Swietlik is a very special person."

"It is an honor to have the film recognized by the American Cinema Editors," says Swietlik. "I am thrilled to have collaborated with Michael Moore on his film, and hope that each award brings attention to the issues raised in it."

Dan was the winner of the 2007 ACE Award for Best Edited Documentary for the Academy Award-winning film "An Inconvenient Truth." He collaborated closely with both director Davis Guggenheim and Al Gore on the project, which stuck a personal chord with the editor as he has long been an environmental advocate -- driving an EV1 and taking steps to make his company, Cut + Run, a greener entity.

"You can't go far editing documentaries unless you know how to tell a story: Dan is one of the very, very few -- and he does it masterfully, " says Davis Guggenheim.

Founder of Cut + Run/Los Angeles, Dan has also worked on commercial campaigns for ESPN, Honda, Adidas, Anheuser-Busch, Visa, Toyota, 7Up and Sony PlayStation, among others. Dan's dexterity with comedy, dialogue and docu-style editing has earned him a Gold and Bronze Clio for national campaigns, 3 Silver Clios (including one for humor) and gained further recognition at the Beldings, Tellys and the San Francisco Show.
