NEW YORK, February 20, 2008 – The second entry deadline for the 2008 AICP Show, The Art & Technique of the American Commercial is February 29th, 2008, for work airing February 4, 2008 – February 24, 2008. This is the first time since the Show's inception in 1992 that there has been a second eligibility period for the Show.
The structure was introduced this year to allow work created for, and airing, during the Oscars telecast to be considered for the 2008 Show. Work may be entered at www.aicp.com.
The AICP Show debuts on June 3rd at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City. Robert Fernandez, CEO/Partner at Moxie Pictures, is the Show Chairman. The Show recognizes the achievements in the artistry of commercial filmmaking. All moving image advertising and marketing messages are eligible for entry, regardless of the media in which they appear. Honored work becomes a part of the permanent archive of the Department of Film at MoMA.
ABOUT AICP
Founded in 1972, the AICP represents, exclusively, the interests of United States companies that specialize in producing commercials in various media—film, video, digital—for advertisers and agencies. The association, with national offices in New York and Los Angeles as well as regional chapters across the country, serves as a strong collective voice for this $5-plus billion industry, disseminating information; representing the production industry within the advertising community, in business circles, in labor negotiations and before governmental officials; developing industry standards and tools; providing professional development; and marketing American production.
